Ministry.... The Core Values
- Relevant Teaching of Revelation -- Sharing with ALL people, as a basis for that which we believe, teach and confess; the inspired, rightly-divided, and "life-giving" revelation from God that is relevant in the time and place to which He has called us. (2Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; John 20:30,31; Acts 17:26)
- Dynamic and Engaging Worship -- Called together to worship in Spirit and Truth, around the "real presence" of our Abundant Life-giver as He comes to us in Word and Sacraments; we recognize His presence with new songs, filled with meaning for our generation, about the marvelous things God has done throughout time. (John 4:24; Matthew 18:20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Psalm 98)
- Inclusiveness -- Convinced that ALL people ever to be born have One common ancestor; and that God's love for ALL people caused Him to send the One Savior into the world to seek and save ALL people; we believe that He has reconciled ALL people to Himself, and to one another. (Genesis 1,2; Romans 5; John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:14-21; Ephesians 2:16)
- Infectious Outreach Activity -- Compelled by the love of Christ, we make it our aim to be prepared to give an answer for the hope that is in us; inviting people of ALL races and ethnic groups to no longer be strangers but members of the ONE household of God. (2 Crointhians 5:14; 1 Peter 3:15; Ephesians 2:19)
- Cell-Church in Structure; Natural Growth DNA -- The essential unit being small group cells meeting weekly in members’ homes to provide community; mutual accountability; equipping in the faith, leadership training; and evangelism opportunities; from conception the new church will have the DNA of a church that plants churches. (Ephesians 412; Romans 16:5; John 17:20; Acts 2:47; Colossians 2:19)
- Caring and Holistic -- Caring for the whole person, not because we forgot the gospel, but because we remember it! In the church, existing members, for the sake of the gospel, put the comfort of the newcomer above their own comfort. (Matthew 25:31-40; 1 Corinthians 10:24; John 13:14)
Ministry.... The People
Here's an inside look at the special ministry that goes on at Abundant Life. It's alive!, a growing ministry reaching out to people who have been disenfranchised, forgotten, designated to their own churches, or, just ignored. Everyone at Abundant Life is special and has a great deal to offer to others. Our mission could be no other, we need the diversity that our varied backgrounds brings to this church. Our children need it and are thriving on the abundant love, attention, and understanding they receive from our members. All of our members thrive in the environment of acceptance, understanding, and unrivaled respect for their individual gifts, and hard-fought as well as God given strength and wisdom. Our ministry reaches out to our young and school age children with Grace Alive! Our Sunday morning "Grace Alive" nurturing time provides a safe and comfortable place for our young people to grow in the grace of the Lord. Special opportunities to grow in Christ's teachings and receive encouragement and support is offered through Abundant Life's "Life Together" small group fellowship and nurturing for adults, available both Sunday morning and Tuesday evenings. In all that we do, make it a priority to address the needs of the blind and disabled who would be drawn through our doors. Study materials are available in regular and large print as well as in Braille. Everyone is special here. We hope and pray that others who are in need of acceptance and understanding might come to worship our Lord Jesus Christ at Abundant Life where we share all the gifts that the Lord has given us, especially the ones that help us grow stronger in our faith and our dependence on the Lord.
